Fathom
Created for HATAK
By Marcy Chevali

Artist statement on the work:
In light of recent (and future?) flooding, I wanted to create and image that was both threatening and peaceful.  This image combines the unknowable depths of the water with the lofty height of the attic.

Bio:
Marcy Chevali is a visual artist who's work addresses themes of absence, temporality, fragility and unseen or nearly unseen forces.  Her materials range from pencil on paper to lines of thread and glass tumbling from ceiling to floor, to lines drawn in the earth, peels and pits, stones and feathers.  She has been a fellow at the Edward Albee foundation, an artist in residence at Playa and has shown her work at North Willow in a solo exhibition in 2019.
